Biz Tiendita (“we”) runs biztiendita.com, a free directory of Colorado small businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, what we make public, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Business listings. When you submit a business, we collect what you enter: business name, description, category, city and address, phone, public email, website and social links, hours, languages, products and services, optional ownership details, business data such as the NAICS code, entity type, year founded, number of employees and Colorado Secretary of State ID, and photos.
- Your contact details. The name, email, phone and role you give in the “About you” part of the submission form, and anything you send us through the contact form.
- Newsletter. Your email address, language, the optional role you choose and the date you signed up.
- Technical information. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security. We use your IP address for a short time to limit spam on our forms.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to count visits and see which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as your IP address, device and the pages you view.
What is public
Only the public details of an approved listing appear on the site: business name, description, photos, category, city, address if you provided one, phone, public email, website, hours, languages, services and business data fields. The private details from the “About you” section are never published.
Our Community Impact page and its downloads show totals only, grouped by industry and city. They never include business names, contact details, registration numbers or exact locations, and groups with fewer than 3 businesses are not broken out.
How we use information
- To review, verify and publish listings, including checking registration in the Colorado Secretary of State’s public business database.
- To contact you about your listing or your message.
- To send the newsletter, if you signed up.
- To produce community impact totals.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Services we use
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which also delivers our email. Maps load map images from OpenStreetMap and map code from cdnjs (Cloudflare). Google Analytics measures visits. These providers receive your IP address when your browser connects to them, and each has its own privacy policy.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell new visits from returning ones. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works without them. WordPress also sets cookies for people who log in to manage the site.
How long we keep information
We keep listing submissions and messages for as long as we need them to run the directory. Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the information we have about you or your business, remove a listing, or take you off the newsletter. Write to us through the contact form. We reply within 30 days.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
